PWAC’s 2017 Conference

Fredericton, NB – May 18-21, 2017

Your Writing Business Depends on It –

You Can’t Afford NOT to Come!

The PWAC Atlantic Region Conference Committee invites YOU to attend the PWAC 2017 Conference and Annual General Meeting, being held in beautiful Fredericton, NB, from May 18-21.  The Committee has planned two full days of professional development activities, lots of networking/social time and an opportunity to meet the National Board and have your say on PWAC’s future.  Check out the complete schedule here.

Located on the Saint John River, with a diverse heritage that reaches back hundreds of years, Fredericton is the perfect place to extend your Conference visit over the Victoria Day long weekend.  Tour the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, visit the many markets or attend the Riverdance 20th Anniversary Tour at the Aitken Centre – there’s lots to do!

When we say “Your writing business depends on it – you can’t afford NOT to come!” we really mean it…  Take a look at some of the professional development we have planned:

  • The Business of Freelance Writing in Today’s Environment (Panel)
  • Business Essentials for a Freelance Writing Business
  • Taking Care of Yourself:  As important as taking care of the work
  • Breaking into High-fee Content Writing (with Steve Slaunwhite)

There’s relaxation time, too:

  • Pre-conference Tour – wine tasting (separate ticket - please click here to register)
  • Welcome Reception with entertainment by performer and heritage interpreter Peter Pacey
  • PWAC’s Gala Awards Banquet
  • Hospitality Suite featuring the ever-popular PWAC Shakespeare (this year, The Merry Wives of Windsor), music and more

And you can mix business with pleasure:

  • Get story ideas from a tour of the Fredericton markets, the area’s walking trails or the Beaverbrook Art Gallery

There’s also a full day of PWAC meetings, including Regional Round Tables and the Annual General Meeting, so you can meet members of the National Board and discuss the future of PWAC.
